How cell phones can be disruptive

I thought this would be an interesting piece. I saw this article in The Christian Science Monitor. In this piece, titled " Sentenced to a cell( phone)" , the main reason given for buying a cell phone is so that they can stay connected and in the loop.

But in practice, it has been found that the cell phone has been very disruptive to family life. It is said that when they are talking on their phones, even though their bodies are physically present, their minds are elsewhere. This tells the people around them that they are not important, that the conversation is more important than the people around them.

At the same time, a large group of people consider themselves addicted to being in touch. They feel that if they are out of the loop even for a short while, they are out of touch. The affect of this has been less satisfaction in family life. The feeling is that they cannot turn their cell phones off.

Since cell phones are disruptive, remember that when staying an orlando hotel,
these phones are not allowed. Managers feel hotel rooms should
have a peaceful and relaxing environment. Many travel agencies
inform travellers of cellphone bans prior to their flights. People who
fly from go
airlines
have found that sleeping through a flight could be more peaceful
without these pesky ringing tones. However, some flights to rome
allow cellphones in-flight. But flights to new
york
are strict on cellphone usage in the air. For more information,
inquire about mobile usage from your allegiant
airlines
travel agent.
