One reason I do not use "bike lanes"

Watching this video reminds me why I rarely use the so-called "bike paths" where I live. They present a false sense of safety for those that use them. Contrary to the myth propagated by the motoring public, bike lanes and bike paths are extremely dangerous for both cyclists and cars.

Except that you do not live in a city with bike lanes. You live in a town that has bike paths off the road with a median in between in most places.
